We're looking for an Art Therapist to join our growing team! The ideal person will be someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll implement and provide art therapy to help meet the emotional, developmental, and social needs of children in a healthcare setting. You will provide opportunities for children to gain a sense of mastery, offer learning experiences, and encourage family and peer interaction. In addition, you will have the opportunity to contribute to and teach our Sensory Art program!
Responsibilities
- Conduct formal and informal developmental assessments of patients
- Prioritize patient needs daily through review of current patient needs
- Assess coping styles of patients and families during introduction of service to develop a therapeutic plan of care that incorporates patient and family needs, interests, and abilities
- Collaborate with patient and family to develop long and short-term goals
- Provide developmentally-appropriate environments and activities for patients and determine the benefits of group vs. individual therapeutic interventions
- Provide interventions that increase emotional support to patients and families during identified stress points
- Promote a safe environment and communicate the benefits of art therapy to customers, patients and the Little Land team
