Position Overview
We are seeking a Director of Speech Therapy to lead our team of dedicated pediatric speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs). This role will oversee clinical operations, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality speech and language therapy services that align with our mission. The ideal candidate is an experienced and passionate speech-language pathologist who is ready to take on a leadership role while maintaining a small caseload.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Clinical Oversight
• Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to SLPs, SLPAs, and support staff.
• Ensure therapy services align with best practices, compliance standards, and the clinic’s mission.
• Monitor clinical quality, productivity, and patient outcomes, implementing improvements as needed.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new speech therapy team members.
Patient Care & Program Development
• Maintain a small caseload, providing direct therapy services to children with speech, language, and communication disorders.
• Develop and refine speech therapy programs, incorporating innovative techniques and play-based interventions.
• Collaborate with occupational, physical, and behavioral therapists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Provide clinical oversight for feeding and swallowing therapy programs (experience preferred but not required).
Family & Community Engagement
• Act as a key resource for parents and caregivers, ensuring they understand and feel confident in their child’s therapy journey.
• Educate families on home programs and strategies to support skill development outside of therapy sessions.
• Build relationships with referring providers, schools, and community organizations to promote awareness of our services.
Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
• Monitor staff scheduling and workload distribution to maximize efficiency and patient access to services.
• Stay current with industry trends, therapy innovations, and legal requirements affecting pediatric speech therapy.
Qualifications
• Education & Licensure:
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current California SLP license (or eligibility for licensure).
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of pediatric speech-language pathology experience.
• Prior leadership, mentorship, or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with feeding and swallowing therapy is a plus but not required.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with a passion for developing clinical staff.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
• Highly organized, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
