Position Overview
We are seeking a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our collaborative team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a variety of pediatric speech and language disorders. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, passionate about working with children, and committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions that empower both patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment & Diagnosis: Perform comprehensive speech, language, and feeding evaluations to identify areas of need.
- Individualized Treatment Planning: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs, using play-based and evidence-based practices.
- Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy for speech, language, and communication disorders, including articulation, expressive/receptive language, fluency, and social communication.
- Family Education & Collaboration: Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers regarding treatment goals, progress, and strategies for continued practice at home.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate patient records, progress notes, and billing information, adhering to all regulatory standards.
- Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research, methodologies, and technology in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current California SLP license or eligibility for licensure
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; CFY candidates will be considered
Experience
- Experience in pediatric settings (internship or practicum experience can apply)
- Strong interest or background in play-based therapy is a plus
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially when working with children and families
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to maintaining a positive, play-focused environment
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus (but not required)
Compensation & Benefits
- Multiple Service Formats: Recess Pediatric Therapy offers out-patient clinic sessions, Telehealth services, and in-home therapy.
- Flexible Pay Rates:
- In-clinic and Telehealth sessions are paid at a competitive base rate.
- In-home therapy commands a higher pay rate to account for travel and additional time requirements.
- Optional In-Home Services: Therapists are not required to offer in-home therapy. However, in-home opportunities are available for those interested in diversifying their caseload and increasing their earning potential.
